As you walk through our doors you will “Step Back In time” and
into one of the few Authentic General Stores left in America.
You might hear a creak in the floor (the wooden floor is
original) or see the old wiring that is no longer in use but can
still be seen (look up when you browse), Its quite amazing to
think they used “insulators” for the wiring! You might think you’
re in a museum, but you’re not. We’re open for business as
usual (9-5 Mon-Sat. *closed Sun). Packed witwh old-
fashioned barrel candies like black jack taffy, fireball
jawbreakers, neopolitan coconut squares, cowtails, sesame-
honey crunch, rootbeer barrels (of course!) You’ll love that you
can mix and match from over 76 different kinds. We carry
many hard to find candy bars like Zagnut, Clark, Chuckles and
Skybar to name a few. Sens-sens lozenges, cloves,
beemans, black jack, teaberry and fruitstripe gum are still
sold on the check out counter. Remember those pink
witergreen lozenges and the soft peppermint sticks? Enjoy a
vintage soda like Dang Butterscotch Rootbeer, Dads
Rootbeer, Blen Heim ginger Beer, Red Cream Soda, Kick-A-
Poo Joy Juice ( The Original Mountain Dew!) as you shop.
Over 56 flavors of Jelly Bellis and Gourmet Taffy line the
walls. tin wind up toyus are for sale, they aren’t just replicas.
Wooden tops, pop guns, jacobs ladder and Jack-in-the-Boxes
can still be found here. Marbleswith an “arch board”, Jacks,
and Yo-Yos have not gonw out of style in Grabill! The original
“Sock Monkey”, Raggedy Ann and Andy, Lambchops, Popeye,
Bumby and Pokey, Mighty Mouse and many more of your
favorite character toys will take you back to your childhood.
Remember the little magnetic scottie dogs that you played
with as a kid? We have those too! We also have usuful
housewares and gifts, and the same sturdy graniteware that
was sold here years ago. It might cost a bit more, but it’s
